Judging A Book By It's Cover

I just want to share to you two video clips of an ordinary man who just like many of us questions his mere existence in this world, always comparing himself to others and never believing in himself. Until one day, this ordinary guy came out of his shell and stepped on a stage, a talent search that took him to places beyond his self-imposed cell.

This one gave me the goosebumps, I thought I'd share it to you!

Click here for the first part and here for the second part.

I hope his journey will inspire all of us.

Enjoy!

Battle Of The Beauties

Maria Sharapova and Ana Ivanovic advanced to the finals of the Women's Single of the Australian Open. Ivanovic, the number 4 seed from Serbia, defeated Slovakia's Daniela Hantuchova while Sharapova crushed another Serbian, number 3 seed Jelena Jankovic.

The beautiful ladies will play on Saturday in Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena in what surely is not only a battle of beauty but also of power serves and ball control. Sharapova is slightly favoured because of the top form she showed in crushing top seed Justine Henin and the 3rd seed, Jankovic. Ivanovic seemed tentative in the first set of her match with Hantuchova, losing it 6-0. She finally won a game after being down 0-2 in the second set but from then on it was Ana all the way. For me whoever wins surely deserves the title, but I am still sticking my neck out for Ana!

Good luck Ana Ivanovic! Cheers!

Pangakong NAPAKO!

End To Plastic Bags?

Newly elected Environment Minister of Australia, Peter Garett hopes to phase out the use of plastic bags by the end of 2008. Reports show that Australia alone consumes 4 billion plastic bags per year most of them ending up on landfills! Wow that's a lot.

As usual, critics are up in arms, saying that plastic bags are part of our lives and if they are going to replace it with biodegradable paper, it will add up more to the greenhouse effect. They are claiming that in order to resolve the paper issue, more trees have to be cut down to produce paper.

Well in my humble opinion, I think Garett has a point here. Plastics should be slowly phased out and be replaced by biodegradable paper bags. Why not give it a try first? People should be discourage to use plastic bags by imposing some levy on those who will use it and reward those who will refuse to use it by giving some discounts, for example, to those using reusable green bags which many Aussies are doing right now.

With regards to paper shortage... I'm sure you've heard of a process called "RECYCLING." In case those critics don't know or have forgotten, paper can be recycled. Another thing is plant more trees, I'm sure in 10 to 20 years we can use these trees to make paper. If not in our lifetime, maybe in the generations still to come.

Another thing is that, Australia should not be the only one doing this. The whole world should. Starting with the most powerful nation on earth down to the "third world nations" as well.

Haven't you noticed, pictures from Payatas, Smokey mountains and major landfills in the Philippines are tinted mostly by BLUE "SM" plastic shopping bags? Mr. Sy are you aware of this? I am sure you are not. Why don't you share the brunt of caring for the environment? That goes to all of us too!

Pinoy Arseholes!

Have you ever experienced being bullied at work? I am sure many of us Filipinos living abroad have experienced it one time in our lives. But nothing is more horrible than being bullied by good for nothing Filipino co-workers!

What the fu@k is wrong with these insecure monkeys?!?

Let's face it, some Pinoys can be real pains in the butt. The nerve of our kababayans who feel and act like they are some royalties from England. Those Pinoys who are more "slang" than our Caucasian counterparts are nothing than a bunch of insecure bu11$h!t! BULL$h!T kayo! To hell with those who think they own the country because they migrated on a much earlier date.

This is a fact that is happening to some of Filipinos living and working overseas. What I can advise you is to fight back! Do not let these arseholes bully you.
