Choice

I am happy to see my parents again, especially my nanay... There's nothing more like it seing her in good health. I am very much delighted seeing my niece and my nephews too. I am also glad to be with all my siblings here in Australia. I miss my badminton mates back home, all the gimmicks, the drinking spree, relaxing at the spa, but I guess I have to choose between them and my family and I chose to be with family here in Australia.

Well... life is really all about choosing, sometimes you may have good decisions and sometimes bad. What's important is to stick to your choice be it good or bad and stand by it.

Just whining....

What A Hard Head!

Despite the Supreme Court ruling of "no charter change," the midget in the palace is still pushing for the constitution to be changed, with the help of the leprechaun looking, speaker of the house of representatives, and his troops of traditional politicians.

Please... give the Philippines a break. Aren't you full enough???

Could It Be Destiny For Ronnie Alcano?

Ronnie Alcano is only a match away from pocketing the crown of the most prestigious billiards competition, the WORLD POOL CHAMPIONSHIP. He is the last Filipino amongst the 21 who will carry the Philippines' hopes. He will face the 1996 world champion, Germany's Ralf Souquet. Game time will be at 4:00 pm Manila time at the Philippine International Convention Center.

It is a remarkable twist of fate for Alcano as he was only one rack away from failing to make it out of the first round. His previous best performance was the round of 64 in 2005. In the last 32 he beat the Filipino legend Efren "Bata" Reyes, before he recorded wins against 2005 runner-up Kuo Po-cheng and 2005 winner Wu Chia-ching to take his place in the semi-finals against Li He-wen.

Good luck to you Ronnie Calamba! Mabuhay ka! Mabuhay ang Pilipinas!

2006 World Pool Championship

The 2006 edition of the World Pool Championship is now under way in Manila. A total of 128 greatest pool players of the world troop to the Philippine International Convention Center in Manila for an 9 day gruelling tournament of billiards. The tournament boasts of its rich cash prizes amounting to about US $400,000.

The Philipppine team will be spearheaded by the "Magician" himself, Efren "Bata" Reyes and Francisco "Django" Bustamante, two of the sport's finest.

I will be praying for the best results for the Philippine contingent.

GOOD LUCK at MABUHAY PO KAYO!!!

All Saint's Day

Today is All Saint's Day, a legal non-working holiday here in the Philippines. This is a time to remember the faithful departed loved ones. People flock to cemeteries and memorial parks to offer prayers, candles and flowers to the dead.

I just hope that people will not forget the true meaning of this day... This is not a day for picnicking, gambling, drinking, trouble making, family reunions etc, which I think many are doing.

Remember we will surely not want our relatives and friends partying over our graves when the time comes... So let us give due respect for the departed. May they all rest in peace!
